Thank you, from our agency family to your family!

A client with a disability came in needing help with her natural gas bill. She would not have enough money to pay it and the electric bill. She didn’t know what she was going to do. I asked if she had applied for Energy Assistance (EA) and she had not. The client qualified for EA and I was able to help her with her natural gas bill. She said she could pay her electric bill if she received help. I told her about our crisis program and made sure she had the money. I asked a few more questions about her living situation and found out she rented her home and her income was from disability. I informed her about rental rebates that Ozark Action helps complete as a free service. I processed four years of rental rebates for her totaling $1201.00. She was extremely happy about receiving this money that she never knew she could get. In many instances, any money saved for these families is an additional bill he/ she can pay as well as more money entering the economy. She told one of her friends and I helped him with four years of rent rebates totaling $1614.00.
